Portronics today announced its newest product, the Pure Sound Pro — a portable battery-powered sound bar. The company claims that the inbuilt rechargeable Li-ion battery lasts for up to 8 hours of continuous use on a full charge.
Media playback is via an SD card or USB drive attached to the respective port. MP3, WMA, FLAC, and APE file formats are supported. The device comes with FM radio built in. You can connect your laptop / mobile phone or earphones using the AUX IN or a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The Pure Sound Pro also comes with a remote control.
The connectivity options seem good, but the weight is a sore point. The Pure Sound Pro weighs in at hefty 1 kg, which hardly makes it seem portable at all.
Portronics has priced the Pure Sound Pro at Rs 3500, which is slightly more than you'd expect for a device of this sort. Overall, it can be a good option if you want more sound than small laptop speakers can afford.
